In nature, you can rarely admire the splendour of the Colchicum hungaricum, but it blooms all year round on our jewelry : ) in its original glory and in a very special form.

Hungaricum and design

The Colchicum hungaricum is characterised by its six magnificent petals and is a member of the lily family. It was discovered in 1867 by the Hungarian botanist Viktor Janka. Nowdays in Hungary it only flowers on the southern slope of the Szársomlyó in the Villányi Hills.

For 15 years after the fall of communism, a two-forint coin with the Hungarian colchicum was in circulation in Hungary. It was used until March 2008. The three gram coin was designed by artists István Kósa and István Bartos.

Saved Forint coins in a new role

In the Artucci Workshop, carefully sorted and cleaned coins are pickled after annealing and then embossed. Then the fixing rings for the different models are made and soldered. After another pickling, the renewed coins are polished and then cleaned by ultrasound.

The upcycled handmade ArtucciTM Lucky One collection is available with individual size adjustments and design variations in our shop.

Dominik Lelkes’ photos have enchanted us, we appreciate his work and are grateful for the pictures! You can find more on his Facebook & Instagram pages.
